A small Northern Virginia IT company, built for small Northern Virginia businesses.
We are based in Herndon and we work with teams of one to fifty people — mostly under twenty. The engineer who scopes your work is the engineer who does it, and the engineer you reach when it breaks.
Our story
Why we work the way we do.
Small businesses get squeezed from two directions. National providers price for a headcount they do not have, put a script reader on the phone, and route everything through three handoffs before it reaches somebody who knows the network. The one-person shop down the road is cheaper and often excellent, but there is no bench when they are on vacation, in a hospital, or simply out of depth on a firewall.
We built Knockout Networks to sit in between: senior engineers you can actually reach, priced for a six-person office rather than a six-hundred-person one, with enough of a team that the answer is never "our guy is out."
The second thing we fixed is the contract trap. Most providers will only touch your cabling, phones, or office move if you also sign a multi-year support agreement. We quote project work on its own, hand over labels, diagrams, and credentials at the end, and let the ongoing support conversation happen on its own merits — or not at all.

The number is in writing first
Flat monthly rate per person for support; fixed price after a walkthrough for projects. Exclusions written down instead of discovered as change orders.
No hostage-taking
Projects never require a support contract, support never requires a project, and everything we install is documented and handed to you — including your own credentials.
Local enough to show up
Herndon-based, so Reston, Fairfax, Chantilly, Centreville, Sterling, Ashburn, Tysons, and Vienna are a drive, not a dispatch fee. Day-to-day support stays remote-first because it is faster.

Brand history
Knockout Networks, formerly Biz-Focus.
Knockout Networks is the current name of the business that operated as Biz-Focus, with roots going back to Technical Knockout. Same engineers, same DMV service area — a sharper focus on managed IT, security, project delivery, and practical AI for small businesses.
If you found us through an old name, an old email domain, or a bookmark that redirected here, you are in the right place. Existing agreements, phone numbers, and support contacts carried over unchanged.
Straight answers
When we are not the right call.
- Enterprises with hundreds of seats and a full internal IT department — we work alongside internal IT, but we are not a staff-augmentation shop at that scale.
- Anyone who needs a licensed low-voltage crew running conduit through occupied structural walls. We do structured cabling; heavy construction trades are a different license.
- Compliance sign-off. We implement and document HIPAA, CMMC, and Safeguards Rule technical controls; your counsel or assessor decides whether you have met the legal bar.
- Businesses well outside driving range that need hands-on work. We will say so rather than sell a plan we cannot service properly.

Are you the same company as Biz-Focus?
Yes. Knockout Networks is the rebrand of Biz-Focus, which itself grew out of Technical Knockout. Same senior engineers, same Northern Virginia base, same phone number.
How big is your team?
Small on purpose — small enough that you get a senior engineer rather than a queue, large enough that nobody is a single point of failure. If you want to know exactly who would be assigned to your account, ask on the first call and we will tell you.
Where are you based, and how far do you travel?
Herndon, Virginia. Onsite work runs across Northern Virginia — Reston, Fairfax, Chantilly, Centreville, Sterling, Ashburn, Tysons, Vienna, and the surrounding area — with remote support across the wider DMV. Ask about anything further out and we will give you a straight answer about coverage.
What does a first conversation look like?
Fifteen minutes on what is going wrong, how many people you have, and what you already run. If it is ongoing support, we follow up with a flat monthly rate. If it is project work, we schedule a walkthrough and quote fixed price after seeing the space. No discovery fee for either.
